This Privacy Policy describes how Savad ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of users of the Savad mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are
Savad is an online education platform (e-learning) where users can register as a Student or a Teacher. Students access and enrol in courses; Teachers create and publish educational content.
2. Information We Collect
Registration data
When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and your selected role (Student or Teacher).
Account and session data
We record your last login date and manage your session using a JWT authentication token stored in an HTTP-only cookie valid for 7 days. Upon registration, a verification link is sent to your email address.
Profile data
You may optionally upload a profile avatar image. This file is stored securely via Supabase Storage.
Student activity data
If you are a Student, we collect data about the courses you enrol in, courses you mark as favourites, your quiz answers and results, and any course reviews or ratings you submit.
Teacher content data
If you are a Teacher, we collect the courses you create, including their title, description, price, duration, and cover image. We also store course modules, lessons, subtitles, and any related files you upload.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to create and manage your account, verify your email address, provide and personalise the App's features, display your course activity and progress, enable Teachers to publish and manage courses, send transactional emails such as account verification messages, and maintain platform security.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
Supabase — used as our database and file storage provider. User data, course content, and uploaded files are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
Gmail SMTP (savadapplication@gmail.com) — used to send transactional emails, including account verification messages. Your email address is shared with this service for this purpose.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy.
5. Permissions
The App requires an internet connection as it is fully online with no offline mode. File/storage access is requested to allow you to select and upload profile avatars and course materials from your device.
The App does not request access to your camera directly, push notifications, location, or contacts.
6. Payments
Some courses may have a listed price. Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not store credit card or payment credential information on our servers. Details of the payment provider will be disclosed at the point of purchase.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When an account is deleted, a soft-delete flag is applied and the account becomes invisible on the platform. Underlying data may be retained internally for a limited period to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. You may request full permanent deletion by contacting us.
8. Data Security
Passwords are stored in hashed form and never in plain text. Sessions are managed via JWT tokens in HTTP-only cookies to reduce the risk of cross-site scripting attacks. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. File storage is managed through Supabase with access-controlled storage buckets.
Despite these measures, no security system is completely infallible. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request corrections to inaccurate data, to request permanent deletion of your account and personal data, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
